How we work
At Denza, our experienced recruiters undertake a thorough search of graduate work each year, through Graduate Fashion Week, individual visits to university exhibitions, and personal recommendation of colleges.  In this way, Denza selects the most suitable graduates for our clients' needs; based on the graduates' style of work, overall presentation of portfolio, and work experience. 

Applying to register with denza
There are insufficient vacancies at graduate level to sustain the amount of applications we receive therefore we can only take on a certain number of applicants. The majority of our clients seek designers with minimum 1-2 years of solid experience, and conduct their own searches for graduate roles at Graduate Fashion Week, or by advertising in trade magazines like Drapers Record. They also receive a large amount of direct applications, so this approach is more cost effective for them: there is no need to go through an agency.

When to apply
We can only help you once you have completed your degree, so we advise you to apply once you have finished University.  Please note that there is no charge to the candidate in order to be registered.

Applying directly to companies
It is essential that you apply to companies directly. You should send a copy of your CV together with 4 - 5 examples of recent design work. We recommend that you send examples of drawn work(illustrations and flat working drawings) rather than photos. Always follow up with a phone call around a week after sending your details.   

Placements
If possible it is advisable that you gain some experience within industry as this may make you a more attractive candidate to potential employers once you have graduated.  It is also important to note that whilst a placement is benefical for a number of reasons, it does not automatically mean you will enter the workplace in a higher level position.

Finding a job after graduation
You must start sending your details to companies straight after or during Graduate Fashion Week. Buy Drapers on a weekly basis or register online.  Keep checking on the Internet for new positions. It is also extremely important that you continue working on new projects for your portfolio.  

Salary expectations for your first job
You should expect anything between £15 - 19k in London. Overseas is very different and depends on the company and location.
